Virginia Lynn Philio

Virginia Lynn Philio, lovingly known to her family and friends as Ginny, a native of New Jersey, and long-time resident of Ocean Springs, MS., passed away in Gulfport, MS on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at the age of 82.

Left behind to cherish loving memories are her devoted husband of 63 years, Schuyler, “Butch” Philio; her daughter, Robin Rumery and her husband Thomas, and her four sons, Joseph Philio, Chuck Philio, Shannon Philio, and Shawn Philio; her grandchildren, Eric Rumery, and Karen Rumery; her brother, Norbert Hoffman, and a host of nieces, nephew’s other relatives and dear friends.

Ginny was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Virginia Hoffman; and her brothers, Lee Hoffman, George Hoffman and her sisters June Bello and JoAnn Dabola.

She had a deep love of animals, especially the English Pointer’s which she bred and lovingly trained for competition showing. She also loved collecting Porcelain Dolls, and statues of English Pointers, and Department 56 Christmas Houses which she loved displaying every year. She was a devout Catholic and was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D’Iberville. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by those she loved and those who loved her.
