Virginia S. Lucas

Virginia S. Lucas, 64, of Gulfport, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023, in Gulfport. She was a loving mother, sister and friend.

Born on May 26, 1959 in Kansas City Missouri to William C. Lucas, Jr and Lucy G. Lyon, Virginia was a devoted resident of Gulfport for many years. She graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor's degree and went on to work for the State Tax Commission.

Virginia will always be remembered for her love of animals and spending quality time with her daughter Frances as they enjoyed their brunches together.

Virginia is preceded in death by her father, William C. Lucas Jr., her mother, Lucy G. Lyon, her brother, William Lucas and sister, Kathryn "Kiki" Lucas.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Frances L. Lucas; adopted daughter, Reannon West; sister, Frances Lucas; brother, Charlie Lucas; and many other extended family members and friends.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Visitation gathering at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport on Friday, June 9, 2023 from 1:00 PM –2:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at the same location starting at 2:00 PM.

Virginia had requested that all memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of South MS (hssm.org) which was very close to her heart.

Her kind nature and selfless spirit will be forever etched in the minds of those who knew her well. She will be missed dearly but always remembered in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
