Virginia A. Burtchaell, 84, a life long resident of Arabi, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday morning, February 25th, 2010.
Virginia had a much filled life! She was involved passionately in local politics throughout her life and was president of the St. Robert Church Alter Society in Arabi, served as president of the AARP, the Delegate to the Democratic Committee representing St. Bernard Parish and an avid New Orleans Saints Fan.
She was born to Anthony aÌ‚â‚Å“TonyaÌ‚â‚ Maenza and AliceaÌ‚â‚â„¢ L. Maenza in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 13th, 1925. Virginia was the oldest of 8 children.
Virginia married William J. Burtchaell Sr., deceased, and had three children. Colleen A. aÌ‚â‚Å“BurtchaellaÌ‚â‚ Welch, William J. Burtchaell, Jr., deceased, and Anthony D. Burtchaell, deceased.
Virginia is survived by brothers and sisters, her loving and devoted daughter, Colleen, her loving daughter-in-law Peggy, grandchildren, great aÌ‚â‚""grandchildren and a great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives, friends and the staff of Lakeview Nursing Center are invited to attend the visitation being held on Tuesday, March 2nd 2010, between 10am until 12pm at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln Delisle Rd., Pass Christian, MS.
Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Ave., Biloxi, MS.
