Virdee Graham Marchant, age 89, of Gulfport, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012. Virdee a long time resident of Gulfport, but formally from Sumrall, MS, graduated from Sumrall High School in 1941. She is the daughter of the late Alex and Annabelle Graham.
As a beloved wife, she leaves behind her husband of 70 years, Edward D. Marchant, Sr., Army Chief Officer 4; and as a beloved mother, she also leaves behind two sons, Edward (Susan) Marchant of Topeka, Kansas, and Daniel R. (Fran) Marchant of Davies, FL. She is also survived by a sister Georgie Nell Baygents, of Hattiesburg, MS.
As a career military family, Ed and Virdee enjoyed numerous assignments. Virdee loved Mardi Gras, and in 1976 she was the queen of the American Legion Auxurilly, Unit 119 of Gulfport.
