Viola S. Conner, 82, of Long Beach died Friday, December 08, 2006 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Conner was a native of Morse, LA and had been aresident of Long Beach since 1988. She was retired after 20 years from Bell South as an Inspector, worked as a hairdresser for 25 years, and also did demonstrations at Sam's. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and she belonged to the St. Thomas Quilters. Mrs. Conner was also a member of the Bell South Pioneer's Club and she volunteered at Garden Park Hospital where she was named Employee of the Year in 2004.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Conner and her parents, Alfred and Leone Trahan Schexnayder.
Survivors include her children, Bonnie Vincent and her husband Jerome, Morse, LA, Ronnie Lege and her husband, Bobby, Kaplan, LA, Rayetta Tanguis, Slidell, LA, John Conner and his wife Frannie, Destrahan, LA, Roxanne Ladner and her husband Gerald, Pass Christian, and Samuel Jacob Conner and his wife Kaylynn, Orange, TX, her sister, Eva Dugas, LA, and her brother, Herbert Schexnayder, Biloxi, 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 10, 2006 from 1 - 3 pm at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. A prayer service will be at 3 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at 1 pm Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Kaplan, LA.
Interment will be in Green Cemetery, Kaplan, LA
