Vincent Douglas Wescovich, age 78, passed away on August 2, 2018 at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans surrounded by his loving family. He was a lifetime resident of D'Iberville/Woolmarket.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent "Johnny" Wescovich and Louise Soujon Wescovich: brothers, Alton "Son" Wescovich, Roland Wescovich Sr.; and one sister, Lorraine Murrell.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jacqueline Margaret Miller Wescovich; two daughters, Debbie Ann (John Paul) Latham and Kathy Mary (Marvin) Cuevas; and one brother, Wallace (Red) Wescovich.
He is also survived by six grandchildren, DeNita Cuevas (Tom) Palumbo, Nicole Latham (Kenny) Davis, Adam Cuevas, Hilary Latham, Ashley Latham (Brad), and Kristan Cuevas; 11 great grandchildren, Gabriel, Jonah, and Natalie Palumbo, John Cole, and Caden Almond, Kadie, Dalton, Drew, and Eli Davis, and another Davis boy on the way, and Kynleigh Johnson.
Doug attended Lopez Elementary School, joined the US. Navy, and later obtained his GED. He was an avid carpenter and fisherman, and enjoyed crabbing and shrimping. He worked as a carpenter for Lady Luck Casino and the Beau Rivage Casino. He was also recognized for his carpentry work when he worked for the city of Biloxi.
Doug enjoyed watching old movies, collecting antique car models, and teasing his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM, on Monday, August 6, 2018, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Graveside services will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Ave. at 1:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Project Healing Waters - Fly Fishing Inc., Biloxi VA Medical Center.
