Vertie Mae Prestwood

Vertie Mae Prestwood, age 93, of Long Beach, passed away on May 17, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Huey Prestwood, her parents, and a brother, Thomas Head.
She is survived by two children, Dennis Prestwood and his wife, Brenda, of Lizana, and Joyce Ray and her husband, Floyd, of Long Beach, four grandchildren, Denise Jacobs and her husband Dean of Lizana, Sheree Williams and her husband, Justin, of Wiggins, Nancy Ray of Gulfport and Joey Ray of Long Beach, seven great-grandchildren, Logan, Devin, Ryan, Reeana, Raeghan, Amilee, and Amery, 2 sisters, Hazel Scott, and Jewis Boone, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Mrs. Prestwood lived in Long Beach most of her life and was a graduate of Long Beach High School. She was an active member of the Long Beach Eastern Star and served as Worthy Patron and several other state offices. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting.
A visitation will be on Tuesday from 9 - 10 am at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 am in the Long Beach City Cemetery.
