Vermon Lee Saucier

Vermon Lee Saucier, age 79, of Saucier, passed away at home surrounded by his wife, children, sisters, and other relatives on Friday, July 22, 2011, in Lizana.
Mr. Saucier was a short order cook at Broadwater Hotel and later retired from Colonial Bakery after 42 years of employment. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Lizana and enjoyed watching football, working on his property, and going to the dog track.
Mr Saucier was born during the height of the depression, and worked hard for many years. It shaped his life, beliefs and values. He valued the importance of working hard and living a modest and humble life. He wanted to give his children more than he received in life. He asked that in return that his children pass down the same philosophy of ""giving more than you were given. There is no greater gift."" His legacy will live on for many generations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace Joseph Saucier and Mary Magdalena Saucier, and a brother, Vilden Saucier.
Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Beverly Ann Saucier, 3 children, Anthony (Beth) Saucier, Crystal (David) Gebhardt, and Tammy (Ken) Eley, 5 grandchildren, Brittany (Kenny) Sims, Cody Gebhardt, Zach Eley, Jordan Saucier, and Brooke Saucier, 1 great-grandchild, Brandon Geren, 5 sisters, Doris Ladner, Eula Lizana, Patricia ""Tricky"" Lizana, Darnell Lander, and Peggy Lander, a special cousin, Wardell Dedeaux, his beloved puppy, Milkshake, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 - 8 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213 Hwy 49 N, Gulfport. The rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm. Visitation will also be held Wednesday from 8 - 10 am at St. Ann, Lizana and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am.
Burial will be in Wolf River Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Odyssey Hospice, especially Paul Cook, Andrew, and Sharon for their special care and concern of Mr. Saucier during the last 14 months.
