Verlin Lloyd Garlotte age 92, a native of Silver Creek, MS and longtime resident of D'Iberville, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at his home in D'Iberville.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Lamar Garlotte and Evelyn Sabra (Daughdril) Garlotte; and his brothers, Winvon Vaughn Garlotte, Euthyl Gildon Garlotte, Berley Eulon Garlotte and Thomas Eldon Garlotte.
Although from D'Iberville, Mr. "Bill" as lovingly known by many, graduated from St. Martin High School. He was in the 754
th
Tank Battalion in the Army having served from August 25
th
1945 (his birthday), until January of 1947. He was employed at Home Auto Supply for over 30 years on Howard Ave. in Biloxi and was an avid fisherman, loved playing the guitar and was an accomplished artist. He was a loving and giving person to all he knew, and will be deeply missed by his family and those whose lives he touched.
Verlin is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Rose Lois (Parker) Garlotte; his children, Lisa Elizabeth Dobson (Dennis), William Lamar Garlotte (Teresa Tickle), Mary Evelyn Young (Gray), "Ginny" Virginia Louise Garlotte, Thomas Verlin Garlotte; his eight grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.
A visitation for friends and family will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd. at Washington Ave. in West Jackson County. Interment will follow at D'Iberville Memorial Park Cemetery, D'Iberville.
