Vera Brown

October 29, 1922 — December 5, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Vera Emmie Brown announces her passing on December 5, 2018.
A long-time resident of Biloxi, Mississippi, Vera was born in Chattahoochee, Florida on October 29, 1922, to Nellie (Shaw) & Jesse O'Bryan.  As a young woman, she worked as a secretary.  She met and married Colonel Robert Wilburn Brown of Baker, Louisiana, in 1945.  They spent fifty years together, and in that time, they traveled the world and raised their daughter.  During her long life, she lived in many different and wonderful places, but always remembered Japan most fondly.  She was a collector of antiques, an incredible cook and an astounding Bridge player.  She will be remembered for her generosity, her zeal and her love of life.
She is survived by her daughter Sondra Vee Hall (Brown); her grandchildren, Michael (Tammie) Bolton and Kathryn (Jason) Schmidt; her great-grandchildren, Ashley, Amber, Tristan, Sydney, Brooklynn, and Thea; her niece, Denise, and her nephew, Sol; and longtime dear friend, Regina Braden.  She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert;  sister, Marcia; and her son-in-law, Michael.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 14 at the Biloxi National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Vera's name to the Wounded Warriors Project at PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.   Vera's family would also like to extend their deepest gratitude to the Pillars of Biloxi and Kindred Hospice for their care these last several years.
