Velma Mae Mills

Velma Mae Mills, age 85, of Gulfport, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 31, 2011 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Mills was born on August 17, 1925 in McMinnville, Tennessee. She had been a resident of Gulfport since 1953. She was a beautician, having opened Mills Beauty Shop in 1954, the first beauty shop on Pass Road in the Handsboro community. She was a long-time member of both Temple Baptist and Bible Baptist churches. Among her chief interests were fishing, gardening and camping.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Fred W. Mills of Gulfport and her son, Aaron C. Mills and wife, Patricia of Franklin, North Carolina.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 from 9:00 until 9:45 a.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., in Gulfport, with the funeral service beginning at 9:45 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the National Cemetery in Biloxi.
