Mrs. Velma Mary (Cuevas) McKenna, age 77, resident of Gulfport, passed away on Monday, June 14, 2010, in Gulfport.
Mrs. McKenna was born in Pass Christian to Oscar and Viola (Ladner) Cuevas in 1932. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Long Beach. She enjoyed Bingo and going to the casinos.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Buren Cuevas; and sister, Beulah Moran.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Edward """"Snowball"""" McKenna of Gulfport; children, David McKenna (Annette) of Gulfport, Ronnie McKenna of Gulfport, Mary Carter (Tim) of Glenwood, IN, and Edward McKenna (Tammy) of Long Beach; grandchildren, David McKenna, Jr. of Ocean Springs, Shannon Crain of Boone, IA, Marlo Stewart of Gulfport, Brandon McKenna of Kingwood, TX, Raymond McKenna of Gulfport, Kristen McKenna Daley of Gulfport, Jennifer Hornsby of Glenwood, IN, Ethan Carter of Glenwood, IN, Amanda McKenna of Ft. Smith, AR, Blake McKenna of Long Beach; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Wilbert Cuevas of Gulfport.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2010, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213 Hwy 49 North, Gulfport, where friends may visit from 6-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Friday in the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m., where friends may visit one hour prior.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.
The family would like to express their appreciation and thanks to the staffs of Lakeview Nursing Center and Memorial Hospital at Gulfport.
