Vardaman Spiers

Vardaman Spiers, Jr., age 78, of Gulfport, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 in Gulfport.
Mr. Spiers was a native and life-long resident of Gulfport and was a member of Kenwood Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and he later retired from Chattanooga Glass Company in Gulfport. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol J. Spiers; parents, Vardaman Spiers, Sr. and Mary Kirschenheuter Spiers; 2 sisters; and 1 brother.
Survivors include his son, Justin Spiers, Sr. (Kim); daughter, Pam Kuhn (Alan); 5 grandchildren, Justin Spiers, Jr., Rachel Yonkers, Matthew Kuhn, Jeremy Kuhn and Nicholas Spiers; and 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas Spiers; and sister, Florence Cuevas.
Friends are invited to visit the Spiers family Thursday, September 2, 2010 from 6 until 8 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213 Hwy. 49N in Gulfport. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 3 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Evergreen Gardens.
