Vallie Louis Lunday, Jr., age 80, of Texas, passed away on February 8, 2021.
Val was born to Jessie F. Stephens Lunday and Vallie Louis Lunday, Sr. in Biloxi, MS. His early years were in Biloxi, Mississippi, graduating from Biloxi HS before attending college at Mississippi State for 3.5 yrs, (and one semester at Ole Miss), studying electrical engineering, from which he moved to Richardson, Texas to pursue his sweetheart Kaaren Beal, who he married July 27, 1962. He worked at Collins Radio as an electronics technician, which was later acquired by Rockwell Intl where he worked on various projects for the US Gov't and retired after 35 years. Some of his passions were genealogy, gardening, writing his memoirs, treasure hunting, and fixing anything he could himself. He authored a book chronicling the life of his great grandfather, John Johnson Lunday, and in his later years he enjoyed teaching English as a second language.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 yrs, Kaaren Lunday; his parents; his Uncle Jerome McGowen, Aunt Pauline Danford, Aunt Dina and Uncle Johnny Lunday, Aunt Hilda Kruse and Aunt Mary Jane Drey, and Uncle James Lunday.
He is survived by his son, Vallie Louis Lunday, III and Christopher Alan Lunday (Ashley); his grandchildren, Kaedan Watts, Peyton Noel Lunday Floutin (Josh), Gage Thomas Kelty, and Ashton Riley Lunday, and his sister Carolyn Wispell
Private interment services will be held at Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi.
