Valery Nelson Little, age 91, of Picayune, Mississippi, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022, at Highland Community Hospital in Picayune.
Mrs. Little was born on February 14, 1931, in Poplarville, Mississippi and was a former resident of Long Beach, Mississippi. She graduated from Poplarville High School. She worked for many years as an Agent for Greyhound Bus Station in Gulfport and Bay St. Louis. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Bay St. Louis.
Mrs. Little enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking, baking, and cake decorating & coloring. She was the Mother of the Year every year in the Little Household!
The family would like to thank everyone who cared for Valery. Specifically, they are grateful to the nurses and staff at Bedford Care Center of Picayune for their years of exceptional care, love and compassion.
Mrs. Little was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Quitman Nelson and Lenna Ladner Nelson; her husband, William Leroy Little, Sr.; her brothers, Author O. Nelson, J.C. Nelson and Paul Nelson; and her brother-in-law, Ralph Hinson. She is survived by her three children, William Little, Jr. and wife Susan, Debra Bilodeau and husband, Albert E., Sr., and Robert Little and wife, Allison; her sister, Beatrice Hinson; her grandchildren, Melissa St. Andre (Joseph), Albert E. Bilodeau, Jr., Jennifer Francart (Andrew), Joseph R. Bilodeau (Rebecca), Robert J. Little, Jr. and Justin W. Little; her great-grandchildren, Nicholas R. St. Andre, Zachary Kirst, Glory Francart, Micaiah Francart, Noah Bilodeau, Evangeline Francart and Jacob Bilodeau; her nephew, Harvey Little (Sandra); and her nieces, Betty Ernst and Rhona Rosenthal (Doug).
Friends are invited to join the Little family for visitation and services on Thursday, June 30th, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, MS. Visitation will be held from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m., with the funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m. Mrs. Little will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Brett Boyer Foundation which supports families with children who have congenital heart disease, like Valery's great-grandson, Jacob.
