Valeria Jean Moore Downey, age 60, of Long Beach, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2011, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Downey was a lifelong resident of the coast and served as an Academic Advisor for the College of Business at the USM Gulf Park Campus. She was a member of the Long Beach Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Valeria Moore, and brother, George Moore.
Survivors include her son, Ragan (Sally) Downey, grandson, Aiden, sister, Jan (Kenny) Woodward, brothers, Glenn and Charles (Jan) Moore, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 - 7 pm at the Long Beach Church of Christ. The funeral service will be Thursday at 11 am in the church sanctuary. Interment will be in Long Beach City Cemetery.
