Valene Maia Frisby, age 81 and a resident of Slidell, died on Monday, January 23, 2012, in Slidell.
Mrs. Frisby had been a resident of Utah, Pass Christian, MS, and Covington, LA. She was a registered nurse for many years and had worked at the Biloxi, MS and New Orleans, LA VA Hospitals and the Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, UT. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was known for giving everyone she met with a hug.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Frisby is survived by her sons, David L. Frisby of Gulfport and Phillip W. Frisby of Arizona; her brother, Robert Pride; her sisters, Virginia Pride, Elizabeth Pride, and Margaret Pride all of Phoeniz, AZ and several grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012, at 1:00pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1911 McLaurin Street, Waveland, MS 39576, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service.
RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln Delisle Road in Pass Christian, assisted the family with arrangements.
