TSgt William T. Pfleeger, U.S. Air Force, Ret, age 83, of Gulfport, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma Mayeaux Hensley and William John Pfleeger.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Wanda Pfleeger; his children, Tom Pfleeger (Cindy), Kim Pfleeger Stewart (Jack), and Kelly Pfleeger Borgstede (Eddie); a sister, June Apperson; his grandchildren, Lauren, Leah, Brooke, Rebekah, Bailey, and Jenna; his great-grandchildren, Carter, Warren, Bentley, Baylor, Bronson, Viviane, Jude, Evie, Ellen, Jacob, Isla, and Sumner; 1 nephew; 5 nieces; and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Pfleeger was a native of New Orleans and was a longtime resident of Gulfport. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and later retired as a Tech Sergeant. He later worked and retired from Mississippi Power after 19 years of service. He obtained a commercial pilot’s license and he enjoyed flying, working in his yard, Koi pond, and spending time with his family. Mr. Pfleeger was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
The family would like to thank Dr. David LaRosa, Dr. Olivia Hightower, and Kindred Hospice for their care and concern.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 19, 2021, from 9:30 am – 10:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 12290 Depew Rd, Gulfport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am in the church. Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Pfleeger, Dru Holland, Warren Moody, Jacob Hover, Jack Stewart, and Andres Calderon. Honorary pallbearers are Vinicius Carniero and Brian McNees.
