TSgt George B. Rogers, USAF, Ret., age 83, of Gulfport, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2011.
Mr. Rogers retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service in both Korea and Vietnam. He enjoyed watching birds and he was a member of Olivet Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadine Rogers, his parents, William and Nannie Rogers, a sister, Willie Mae Simms, and 2 brothers, Luther Leon Rogers and Howard Paul Rogers.
Survivors include his children, Peggy Dean Rogers-Punzo and her husband Troy, Mary Denise Banks and her husband Ricky, and Jerry Lynn Rogers, 2 sisters, Velma Aline Williams and Ida Jane Blakeney, 2 grandchildren, Laura Lee Banks and Courtney Danielle Banks, and numerous other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd., Biloxi, from 10 - 10:50 am. A graveside service will be held at 11 am at Biloxi National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Olivet Baptist Church for the distribution and purchase of bibles.
