Troy Hooks, Sr., 76 of Gulfport, died on Friday, March 14, 2008 in Gulfport.
Our precious Lord led our loving Father and Paw Paw by the hand to his final resting place. He went peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with Leukemia. His love well be cherished in our hearts forever.
Mr. Hooks served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and he was a Iron worker. Most knew him as the """"Rail Road Man"""" selling his second hand wares on Railroad St. in Mississippi City.
He was preceded in death by his beloved Mother and Father Kate and Mitchell L. Hooks, Sr.; Brothers Pat Mitchell, Bill Mitchell and Mitchel L. Mitchell, Jr.; sisters Jeanette Tillman and Dorothy Hillman.
Survivors include his daughter Tammie S. Burch and her husband Tony, of Delisle, Son Troy Hooks, Jr., and his wife Kathy of San Diago; 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6pm until 8pm on Sunday, March 16, 2008 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday March 17, 2008 in the funeral home chapel, interment will follow in Floral Hills Cemetery.
