Travis Earl Hudson
January 12, 1928 — October 16, 2010
Travis Earl Hudson, age 82 and a longtime resident of Long Beach, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at Keesler Medical Center.
Mr. Hudson was born on January 12, 1928, in the White Plains Community to Travis and Gertrude Evans Hudson. He was a native and lifelong resident of the MS Gulf Coast. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was an active member of the MS Air National Guard, 255 CMBTCS in Gulfport for 29 years. He was a devoted member of the Klein Road Church of God in Gulfport for many years and served on the Long Beach Harbor Commission for 16 years. Mr. Hudson retired from Sears after working there 37 years. He was also employed by the Harrison County Sheriff's Department for 13 years as a Court Baliff.
Mr. Hudson is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Hudson and two nieces.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joanna Switzer Hudson and his daughter, Patricia Earle Hudson both of Long Beach; his son and wife, Calvin Michael & Lisa Hudson of Leeds, AL; his grandson, Wesley Calvin Hudson; his brothers, Carlos Hudson and David Hudson; his sister, Shirley Clark and 12 nephews and nieces.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at 1:00pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road in Long Beach, where friends may visit beginning at 11:30am. Interment will follow at Long Beach City Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Keesler ICU & Surgical Team. The family also requests that memorial contributions be made to the Klein Road Church of God, 11392 Klein Road, Gulfport, MS 39503.
