Travis Niles Collier, age 43, of Long Beach, passed away on April 7, 2023.
Travis was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Rishel, Sr. and Mr. Frank Collier. He is survived by his parents, Mike and Renae Collier; his children, Abby Zink and Cruz Collier; his sister, Ellie Frix; his grandmother, Joan Collier, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins on both the Rishel and Collier sides of the family.
Travis graduated from Long Beach High School and received an associate degree from MGCCC. Travis worked in the food industry, sales, and construction. He served in the U.S. Army and was a helicopter air traffic controller. Travis loved baseball and played from t-ball all the way to high school. He gave us, his parents, lots of enjoyment watching all the kids play.
Travis was a cute, blonde, precocious toddler and little boy. He was smart and funny and pretty fearless. He seemed to be destined for leadership. But, life was uncertain and even precocious, fearless little guys can make some wrong turns along the way to adulthood that tragically alter the final outcome. Sadly, this is what happened to Travis. Once he headed down that hateful path, he could never seem to find his way back completely. My plan is to hold tight to the best memories and believe that he is now whole of mind and body and filled with peace. I hope all of you who knew and cared for him will do that also, in honor of a life cut short.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 pm in the chapel.
