Toxie Conrad Ferguson

d. May 24, 2012

Toxie ""Conrad"" Ferguson, Sr., who lived a long, loving and meaningful life, died Thursday, May 24th, 2012 in Gulfport, MS at the age of 87 years. He was a native of Byrd's Chapel, Carriere, MS, and a resident of the Coast for more than 60 years.
Conrad proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during both World War II and the Korean Conflict. Conrad often spoke proudly of his service, and fondly of the many friends he lost in both wars.
Conrad was employed with Sears and Roebuck for more than 35 years. He was often commended for the outgoing, friendly, and ""southern"" manner in which he treated customers. Many members of the Sears staff, as well as his customers, loved and thought so highly of him.
Conrad was a devout member of the Methodist faith. He rarely missed church except when he was not well. Everyone who had dealings with Conrad learned very soon that he was a Christian, a man of integrity and a man of his word. His Lord was the strength of his life.
Conrad was preceded in death by his parents; James Lee and Lora Elva Harvey Ferguson; an infant son,Ted Ernest Ferguson; and three siblings, Margie Foote, Faye King and Jamie Ferguson.
The real joy of his Conrad's life was his family. He was the Patriarch of his family and an example of a life lived well. He is survived by his ""babe"" and wife of 65 years, Lillian Pujol Ferguson; 5 loving children, Lora Alena Thomas, Donna Dee (Pete) Kreger, Bennetta Jane Dauro, Toxie Jr., and Timothy Lee (Penny); grandchildren, Scott Thomas, Nichole Quillen (Terry) , Melanie Ferguson, Lee (Pam) Ferguson, Dustin Ferguson, Michelle Dauro, Michael (Sarah) Dauro and Rachael Dauro, Stephanie Ferguson, and Garrett Ferguson; great-grandchildren; Ryan Arnold, Katie Arnold, and Bailey Ferguson, Edan Ferguson Kerrington Ferguson, and July Ferguson; and great-great grandchild, Skylee Arnold (who always lit up his room). Conrad is also survived by two sisters; Joyce Ware of Atlanta, GA, and Dee Womack of Mandeville, LA.
