Our dear family member Tor Bakken passed away peacefully at his home in Diamondhead, Ms on Wednesday, August 5, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his father, Captain Endre Bakken; and his mother, Lotte Langvoll Bakken.
Tor leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Kinta McCall Bakken; their 3 sons, Sean, Scott and Michael; his brother, Endre Leo Bakken; and his wife, Anne Bakken and their three children, Theresa, Luke and Erik; as well as close cousins in Norway and abroad.
He grew up in New Orleans, LA, a hometown he truly loved and enjoyed sharing good times and taking visitors on tours of all the areas that were special to him. He was born in Oslo, Norway and his Norwegian heritage was a very large part of which he was especially the food and the love of fishing.
He was a marine surveyor by trade and enjoyed all the aspects of it until his final days.
Tor will be remembered for his love of life, his Norwegian heritage and his deep love for family and friends.
