Tommy Shirley

Tommy D. Shirley, age 67, of Gulfport, passed away on January 29, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Wynell Shirley; and his father-in-law, Charles Saucier.

Mr. Shirley is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Pamela Saucier Shirley; his children, Kristi Shirley Roberts (Kevin) of Gulfport and Kelli Shirley Uzel (Darren) of Picayune; his siblings, Brenda Shirley, Mark Shirley, Jennifer Shirley (Joe), Kayleena Shirley Hall (trey), and Shane Shirley (Erica); his grandchildren, Xander Roberts, Kaleigh Uzel, Canaan Uzel, Raegan Roberts, Cohen Uzel, and Kemper Wayne Uzel; his mother-in-law, Myrtle Bond Saucier; and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Shirley was a native of Dallas, TX and was a 1973 graduate of Hemphill High School. He retired from the Southern Company working in operations at Plant Watson.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles, shopping, vacationing with his wife, spending time with his family especially attending his grandchildren’s ballgames, rodeos, and cheer competitions.  He was a member of Kenwood Baptist Church and the Blue Knights.

The Shirley family would like to thank their friends and family members for the words of encouragement, prayers, phone calls, visits, and meals over the last several weeks. We would also like to express our gratitude to the ICU nurses at Memorial Hospital for taking great care of our husband, daddy, and pappy.  Your compassion towards our family is greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten.

A visitation will be on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. from 12 - 2 pm at Kenwood Baptist Church, 12217 Old Hwy 49, Gulfport, MS 39503.  The funeral service will be at 2 pm in the church.  Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
