Tina Phillips

Mrs. Tina Jones Phillips, 50, passed away August 31, 2020, at Garden Park Medical Center in Gulfport.

Tina was born December 7, 1969, in Gulfport, the daughter of Jerry Robert Jones and the late Sandra Mae Harvey Jones. Tina was a 1987 Graduate of Gulfport High School and a 1991 Graduate of Mississippi State University, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree. Just this past August, Tina once again enrolled in Mississippi State University striving to obtain her master’s degree. Tina enjoyed working, where she was the Chief Financial Officer for Tellus Development in Gulfport. She thoroughly enjoyed college football, especially her beloved “Bulldawgs” of Mississippi State University. She was also an avid Nascar fan, especially her #24 Jeff Gordon. She was a huge fanatic of Disney World, where she had been 39 times and was planning her 40th trip soon. She enjoyed 80’s music. However, her greatest enjoyment came from her family. She loved all of her family.

In addition to her mother, Tina was preceded in death by the father of her two girls, Thomas Wedgeworth.

Tina leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Johnnie Phillips, II of Gulfport; two daughters, Bailey Wedgeworth of Starkville and Britain Wedgeworth of Gulfport; one step-son, John Aubrey Phillips and his wife, Sarah of Perdido Key, FL; and her father, Jerry Jones of Gulfport.

Visitation for family and friends will begin at 12:00 noon with a Celebration of Life to be held Thursday, September 3, 2020, at Riemann Family Funeral Home Chapel, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, at 1:00 P.M. with Brother James Whittington officiating. Interment will follow in Wolf River Cemetery near Saucier.
