Timothy Rex Freiberg of McHenry Mississippi, passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 65. He was born on April 13, 1958, in Michigan to Thomas and Marie Freiberg.
A proud veteran, Tim served his country in the U.S. Army from 1975 to 1978. He had multiple careers in his lifetime, but all had a common theme – he could fix anything. He had many accomplishments throughout his life but he would tell you that he was most proud of the family that he built with Teresa Freiberg, his loving and devoted wife of 45 years.
His legacy lives on through his children, Christal Smith (and husband Dave), Amanda Dein (and husband Adam), Lyndsey Franklin (and husband Micky), Timothy Freiberg (and wife Emily), Dennis Freiberg, and Dozer Freiberg; siblings: Paula Crawford (and husband Al), and Mark Freiberg (and wife Rebecca). He was also a loving grandfather to Miranda Fugatt (and husband Jake), Michael Dein, Emilie Dein, Samantha Dein, Elizabeth Dein, Amelia Franklin, and Eleanor Freiberg; and great-granddaughter, Vera Bright. Additionally, Tim is survived by sisters-in-law, Cheryl Roberts and Candy Thompson as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family members and friends.
Tim was predeceased by his father, Thomas Freiberg; his mother, Marie Freiberg; his sisters, Kathleen Kleinert and Susan Luczak; his brothers, Paul Freiberg, Dennis Freiberg, James Freiberg, Richard Freiberg, Jonathon Freiberg, Patrick Freiberg, Thomas Freiberg, and David Kahn; his canine-child, Riley Freiberg; and his (nemesis) granddog, Curlydog Smith.
Home for him began in Michigan but life brought him to Mississippi where he made many lifelong friends. The family wants to thank all of them for their love and support.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude for the care and compassion shown to Tim during his time of need, Gentiva Hospice, Elizabeth Pardee, Chris Radix & Beverly Henderson, Luke Couch at Biomed, and the staff at Gulfport Memorial Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Tim’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Guardian Angel Animal Rescue, or a charity or organization of your choosing. This gesture would honor his legacy by continuing the spirit of giving that he embodied throughout his life.
Above all Tim was a family man and he extended family status to most who crossed his path. He will be deeply missed not only by his family but also by all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace knowing that he touched many lives.
The family will be hosting a Celebration of Tim’s life on Saturday, September 23, 2023. The Celebration will begin at 1:00 PM at Knights of Columbus, 3530 Biddle Ave., Wyandotte, Michigan. Friends and family are invited to honor Tim’s memory and share their cherished memories of this extraordinary man.
Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport, MS, is serving the family. The online guestbook may be viewed, and memories and photos shared at www.riemannfamily.com
