Thomas "Tom" Evans Wilson

Thomas “Tom” Evans Wilson, 89 of Biloxi passed away on July 24, 2024 at the Magnolia Place Nursing Home. He was born on November 2, 1934 in Graham, North Carolina to the late James Wilson Sr & Pauline Delilah Evans Wilson. Tom is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Wilson; son David Wilson; parents, James Wilson Sr. & Pauline Wilson; brothers, James Wilson Jr, Eugene Wilson, and Jan Wilson; great grandson, Mason Hill; and daughter in law, Anastasia Wilson

Tom was born in North Carolina and graduated High School. His family then moved to Maryland and that is where he met his wife, Shirley. After living in Washington DC, Tom decided to join the United States Air Force. This is where he went on a worldwide tour. Tom was first stationed at Niagara Falls in New York, and later to Alaska, California, Florida, North Carolina, and Colorado. Tom also served during the Vietnam War and was stationed in South East Asia. Finally, his last deployment was to Keesler Air Force Base until his retirement after 22 years of service.  After retiring from the Air Force, Tom worked at the Navel Oceanographic Office and finally retired from PSI of Long Beach.

Tom had a love for muscle cars and was an avid 1965 Ford Mustang fan. He could rebuild and restore any of those Mustangs from the tires up. Tom was a member of several Mustang Clubs in the area and country. One of his favorite Mustangs was a T-5 Mustang in which only 700 were produced. Tom also enjoyed being in the outdoors going golfing. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to so many. His stories and legacy live on in all of us, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Tom is survived by his children, Thomas Wilson Jr., Dawn (Bill) Hill, and Steve (Shelley) Wilson; daughter-in- law, Dawn Wilson. Tom also leaves behind to cherish his memory 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport (11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport). A Graveside Service with Military Honors will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
