Thomas Wright Teel, age 66, died in Gulfport on Saturday, January 26, 2019.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emile Jones Teel and Wesley W. Teel.
He is survived by his wife, Sally-Lodge Teel; children, Hunter H. Teel and Grace M. Teel, of the home; his sisters-in-law, Frances Wright Henderson and Anne Winslow of Carrboro, NC; and friend of the family, Michael E. Williams.
He was a graduate of Gulfport East High School, The University Southern Mississippi, and the University of Mississippi School of Law. He practiced law with Sekul, Hornsby, Teel, and Tisdale in Biloxi and as City Judge of Biloxi. He served as a Chancery Judge of Harrison, Hancock, and Stone Counties for many years. He returned to private practice with Perry, Murr, Teel, and Koenenn in Gulfport.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at 4:00 pm at Handsboro Presbyterian Church where friends may visit one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Ruth Memorial Presbyterian Church, c/o 142 Howard Heights Rd., Poplarville, MS 39470, or to the Mississippi Center for Justice, P.O. Box 1023, Jackson, MS 39215-1023.
