Thomas Eli Steede

The cremation and private family service will be held on January 25, 2023 at Riemann Family Funeral Home in West Jackson County, MS. Interment will be at Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, MS

Thomas professed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, praying for God’s grace for all his family members.

He served his country as enlisted Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine, Air Force and then ending his full career in the Army as a Chief Warrant Officer CW-2.  He retired 22 yrs. military then went on to Civil Service to earn a retirement a 2nd time with ~24 years’ service.

He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with/3 bronze Service Stars; Vietnam Campaign Medal with/ 60 device; Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with/ Palm while serving in Southeast Asia.

He graduated in 1954 from Basin High School, Lucedale MS.  His interests were firearms, cars, hunting, flying Cessna small aircraft calvary history where he served in a Ceremonial Calvary Troop at Ft. Huachuca, AZ.  He was a Master Mason of the Scottish Rite, a Veteran of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by dedicated and loving spouse Virginia Steede of 66 years, Brother CG/Glynda Fay, Son Tony/Debby Son Glen/Jacque and Daughter Michelle, grandsons David/Stephanie, Brandon/Shilo, Michael/Mansi, Chris and eight great grandchildren, nephews/nieces, great nephews/nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents Abner Toler Steede Sr./ Iness M. Steede and older brother Abner Toler Steede Jr./ Lenora C. Steede.
