Thomas T. Sevel "Tommy" passed away Friday, June 9, 2017.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and sister, Renee Sevel Walker.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Kathryn Ann Sevel; his daughters, Kathryn "Marie" Farmer (Rodney), Irma Louise Morrow, and Carolann Floyd (Nate); his seven grandchildren, Hailey, Hayden, John Thomas, James, Gabriel, Nate Jr., and Isabella; his siblings, Mike Sevel (Pam), Michelle Sevel Kidd (Jimmy), Carol Montefusco (Jerry), and Mitchell Sevel; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Many knew him as "TomKat".
Tommy was born on December 31, 1961 to Mitchell Sevel Jr. and Dorothy L. DeRouen. Tommy grew up in West Gulfport, MS and from a very young age he followed the footsteps of his father and grandfather that lead him to the sea and become an avid commercial fisherman. This passion is how he met the love of his life, Kathy. Shrimping was key to Tommy. This was not only a passion, but a way to provide for his wife and children. Later in life, this passion triggered Tommy and Kathy to open their own seafood business, Family Seafood. His love of seafood was bred into his three girls who grew up to know and love it. Everyone could see that Tommy and Kathy's girls are their greatest accomplishments but when his grandchildren were born, his heart was complete, for he loved them all, with all of his being.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Gulf Gardens Baptist Church, 1415 - 38th Avenue, Gulfport. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport is serving the family.
