Thomas Emerson Roberts, Sr. (Major, USAF, ret.), 87, a long-time resident of the Biloxi-Gulfport area, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Keesler Medical Center in Biloxi after a brief illness.
Mr. Roberts was born in Ridgeville, Ohio, the son of Raymond R. Roberts and Sarepta M. Roberts. He was married for 54 years to the former Letty Victoria Marchioni, a native of Biloxi, who preceded him in death in 1999. Mr. Roberts was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War, and the Cold War. He was a past president and member of the Italian-American Society of Biloxi and a volunteer for the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
He is survived by four sons, Thomas E. Roberts, Jr. of Marietta, GA, and Kathleen Toche Roberts of Woodstock, GA, Michael D. Roberts, and his wife Elizabeth Roberts of Duluth, GA, Douglas P. Roberts of Gulfport, MS, and Steve A. Roberts, and his wife Jane Roberts of Carrollton, TX; four grandchildren, Melissa Roberts Klawinski, Jennifer L. Roberts, Brian M. Roberts, and Andrew T. Roberts; and two great-grandchildren, Ava M. Klawinski and Addison E. Klawinski.
Friends are invited to visit 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, October 17, 2010 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi. The Mass of Christian Burial is 1:30 p.m., Monday, October 18, 2010 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Biloxi, where friends may visit one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
