Major Thomas Franklin McKinion, U.S.A.F., Retired, 86, of Gulfport, passed away on May 20, 2012.
Tom was born in Philadelphia, MS to Marvin V. and Mary E. Hardy McKinion. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from the U.S. Air Force. He was of the Methodist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Danny Joe McKinion; his siblings, Lorena Deweese, Ernest C. McKinion, Carly L. McKinion, James M. McKinion, Elmer E. McKinion, and Herman E. McKinion.
He is survived by his wife, Helga A. McKinion of Gulfport; children, Jeffrey Scott McKinion of Biloxi, Harold Sandbeck of Salt Lake City, UT, and Elenor Tomimotsu of Littleton, CO; sister, Sadie Mae Carothers of Jackson; and 2 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2012, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors rendered by the U.S.A.F.
