Brigadier General Thomas E. Lacy, USAF (ret.), 83, passed away on October 15, 2010 in Claremore, OK.
Born in 1927 in Long Beach, MS, he entered the Air Force in 1950. He served his country proudly and earned numerous military decorations and awards throughout his illustrious career.
General Lacy was preceded in death by his parents W.V. and Ida Lacy, brother Andy and his wife Dorothy, and niece Doris King.
He is survived by five children: Janet (Joe Bunt) Lacy and Peggy Lacy of Albuquerque, Dr. Diane (Dr. Pat) Strollo of Gibsonia, PA, Dr. Thomas E. (Jennifer) Lacy, Jr. of Starkville, and Steven Lacy of Lamont, WA; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Irene Lacy of Poplarville and Carol (Salvador) Giuffria of Long Beach.
At his request his body was donated to science.
A memorial service will be held at the Presbyterian Church in Long Beach on November 15, 2010, at 9:30 AM.
Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
