Lt. Col. Thomas L. Hogan, age 97, of Gulfport, passed away on Thurs., July 14, 2011.
Mr. Hogan was a 1938 graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in Business. Following graduation, Lt. Hogan served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and later retired as a Lt. Col. from the U.S. Air Force after serving during the Korean War and Vietnam War. After the Air Force, he worked as an instructor and training supervisor at Keesler. He was a member of the Reserve Officers Association, the First United Methodist Church, Gulfport, and was a model train enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Anne Hogan, and a sister, Frances Bullard.
Survivors include a daughter, Anne Rhodes, his son, Leigh Hogan, 2 grandsons, Robert Barnett and Brian Barnett, and 2 great-grandsons, Alexander and Benjamin.
The funeral service will be 2 pm Monday at the First United Methodist Church, Gulfport, where friends may visit in the church parlor 1 hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Southern Memorial Park.
Memorials may be sent the First United Methodist Church, Humane Society of South MS, or one's favorite charity.
