Thomas Richard Griffing, age 79, of Gulfport, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2009, in Gulfport.
Mr. Griffing was a member and deacon of Grace Memorial Baptist Church, Gulfport. He served in the Korean War with the 631st AFA. He was manager of Gordon Transport for 28 years and retired from Alcan Cable.
Mr. Griffing was preceded in death by his parents, Edward E. and Minnie L. Griffing.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Griffing, of Gulfport; his children, Anne Rominger and her husband, Dean, of Dothan, AL, Thomas Richard """"Dickie"""" Griffing, Jr., and his wife, Tammy, of Gulfport; his grandchildren, Kimberly Rominger Smith and her husband, Matt, of Dothan, AL, Adam Rominger, of Birmingham, AL, and Taylor Griffing, of Georgia; and one great grandson, Dylan Smith, of Dothan, AL.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2009, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2009, at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. The graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM at Highland Cemetery, Hattiesburg.
