Thomas "Tarrell" Flynt

August 6, 1931 — September 23, 2012

On September 23, 2012, Tarrell, a 22 year resident of Biloxi, left this life to begin his next journey. He will join his wife, Enid, who preceded him in death in 2010.
Tarrell was born in Leeville, MS on August 6, 1931, the youngest of 7, to his mother, Sarah Ann Sellers-Flynt and James William ""Willie"" Flynt.
He joined the Air Force in 1947, and served during the Korean War as an aviation mechanic. Due to medical reasons he received Honorable Discharge after 9 years. During his service he received a Good Conduct medal, a National Defense Service Medal, a United Nations Service Medal and a Korean Service Medal.
Tarrell lived in Odessa, TX for 32 years after leaving the Air Force. He was a Postman for the United States Post Office for 25 years. He retired in 1976.
Tarrell became a Master of the Royal Secret of the 32nd Degree of the Scottish Rite in 1970. He was a member of the Grand Lodge of Texas, Odessa, TX Fellowship #1385, and a member in good standing in the valley of El Paso Orient of Texas until the time of his death.
He graduated from Odessa College with honors in 1982 in automotive technology. He also went on to obtain his Realtors license. He also worked at Tex-Mex Meter Services as a purchasing agent in the oil field industry for a number of years.
Tarrell and Enid moved to Biloxi, MS in 1990 after they both retired.
Tarrell was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah and Willie, his wife Enid, and his daughter, Teresa ""Diane"" Flynt-Wallace, his sisters Virtalee, Lavitaree and Mavis, his brothers L.W., G.D. and J.V. He is survived by his daughter, Candy Maria Flynt-Bearor and her husband, Steve, and his son Terry Len Flynt, eight grandchildren, Michael Paul Sweeden, Jenifer Kay Wallace, Michael Shaun Flynt, Heather Louise Flynt-Pierce, Sarah Elizabeth Flynt-Vasquez, Meghan Elizabeth Ruff-Barrette, Kathryn Diane Ruff and Emily Grace Bearor, and numerous great-grandchildren.
The memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm, Thursday, September 27, 2012 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, MS. Friends and family are invited to a gathering at the family residence following the service.
In lieu of flowers the family graciously requests that a donation be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Tarrell's name at www.stjude.org.
