Thomas Ray Davidson, Sr., retired US Air Force MSgt. of Ocean Springs, MS. passed away peacefully on the evening of April 13, 2025, in Ocean Springs, MS.
He was born in Haynesville, Louisiana to Mayfield Lufcy ‘Red’ and Katherine Galbraith Davidson on January 28, 1933. He was a 1951 graduate of Hall Summit High School, in Hall Summit, Louisiana. He proudly served in the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War where he oversaw the installation of ground radar units in Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia and Laos.
In the early years, while stationed in Goose Bay, Labrador, he had an assignment as attaché to Col. M.P. Vaughn who became a lifelong friend. His family traveled alongside him on many stateside and overseas assignment including a tour of Clark AFB, Philippines. He and his wife, Mary sponsored a 1st Mobile Communications reunion on the Mississippi Gulf Coast with over two hundred attendees. KAFB Commander General William Lord was guest speaker and guests toured Keesler Air Force Base and parts of New Orleans, Louisiana.
Along with his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his brother, M.L. Davidson; his sister, Betty Ann Davidson; his son, Thomas Ray Davidson, Jr.; his grandson, Blake Anthony Terry; and his beloved devoted yellow labrador retriever, Jake.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mary Robinson Davidson; daughter, Kathie (Wilfred) Wade of Ocean Springs, MS; son, Christopher Jay Davidson of Ocean Springs, MS.; daughter, Cynthia (Scott) Roussel of Thibodaux, LA.; and daughter, Terry Lee Davidson of Ocean Springs, MS; he is also survived by eight grandchildren, Sheree Wade Montiforte, Ryan Wade, Chad Wade, Candace Wade Beck, Natalie Davidson Riddell, Cortney Davidson, Dustin Terry and Whitney Terry Fletcher; and sixteen great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m., at The Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd., Biloxi, MS. Interment with full military honors being presented will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Biloxi National Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Lighthouse Memory Care and Traditions Hospice for the loving care they provided during the last few months. A very special thanks to Emily, Teketra and Breanna.
