Thomas Cospelich

Bruce Cospelich passed away on March 13, 2019, in Gulfport, MS.  He was a 1967 graduate of Gulfport High School and attended Jefferson Davis Junior College.  Bruce was employed at the Port of Gulfport for 45 years.  He ultimately succumbed to the effects of Agent Orange, losing the last battle of his life to cancer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Edna Mize Cospelich, whom he adored.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sue; his step son, Steve Davis (Teresa); the light of his life, granddaughter, Taylor "Tay" Davis; his sister and best friend, Nancy Scruggs (Dick); his brothers, Wayne Cospelich (Vicky) and Anthony Cospelich (Melissa), who were more than just brothers; and his loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was so blessed to have all of his buddies at the Port of Gulfport who gave him love and support until the end.
He was a proud Marine and our hero serving in Vietnam from June, 1968 until July, 1969.  He was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnamese Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, Sharp Shooter Badge, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.
Bruce was a devout Saints and Braves fan, thoroughly enjoyed Fantasy Football with his family and friends, sports betting at the casinos, as well as "popping a top on a cool one" with his buddies.  Bruce  always loved family gatherings at his sister's home and especially enjoyed celebrating Christmas and Easter in Brandon with his son, Steve, daughter in law, and granddaughter.  He was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Gulfport, and American Legion Post 119.
The family would like to thank Dr. Olivia Hightower, Julie Page, and Leslie, as well as all the nurses and techs in the Infusion lab of the Cancer Center,  and the 4 ^th floor of the hospital for all of their love and compassion.  He loved you all.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, on Friday, March 15, 2019, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport.  The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 16, 2019, at the funeral home chapel, with a visitation from 10:00 AM until the service.  Interment will be at 2:30 PM, Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude's Hospital or First United Methodist, Gulfport, MS.
