Theresia Christine Saucier Ladner, age 95, resident of Kiln, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2009.
Mrs. Ladner was a lifelong resident of Dedeaux and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dedeaux. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, and dancing, which WLOX recently covered in a special segment. She was also well known for her gumbo file'. She will be remembered most as Mama, Grandma, and G.G.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvian and Clementine Martin Saucier; husband, Joseph Nelian Ladner; sons, Bobby James Ladner, John Dillard (J.D.) Ladner; 2 grandsons, John Dedeaux, Welton Ladner; great grandson, Brandon Necaise; son-in-law, J.D. Dedeaux; 6 brothers and 2 sisters; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.
Mrs. Ladner is survived by her daughters Ethel Dedeaux of Perkinston, Mary Ella (George) Green of Bay St. Louis, Bettye Joyce Green of Kiln; son, Wesley (Mary) Ladner of Kiln; daughter-in-law Lillie Ladner of Kiln; stepson, Kenneth Mayfield of Gulfport; 17 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 11 great- great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 2, 2009, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln Delisle Road, where friends may visit from 6-9 p.m. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dedeaux at 2 p.m., where friends may visit one hour prior to mass.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.
