Thelma Genevieve Spence Pulkowski passed in peace on Sunday, April 25th, after a prolonged illness.
Thelma was an active community citizen of Pass Christian. She graduated from Pass Christian High School, worked for the FBI in Washington DC, and retired from the Social Security Administration as a Technical Claims Manager. She was active in the civic affairs of Pass Christian, a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in the Pass Christian, and a former Queen of the Pass Christian Carnival in 1930aÌââ¢s.
Thelma was the daughter of the late Mayor James and Lilly Spence of Pass Christian, and wife of the late Henry S. Pulkowski of Pass Christian.
She is survived by her two sons, John S. Pulkowski in New York City, New York; Steve and Olga Pulkowski in Lafayette, Louisiana. She is also survived by her brother Lee R Spence and his wife Sarah of Mandeville, Louisiana; her nephew Mayor Chipper and Jeannie McDermott and Family; Jack Lang and Families of Pass Christian; her granddaughter Jessica Umbdenstock and husband Ty of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and her granddaughters Kate and Marissa Lingoni of Lafayette, Louisiana.
On Thursday, April 29, there will be a viewing from 1pm-2pm and funeral services at 2pm at Trinity Episcopal Church in Pass Christian.
Internment will follow the services at Live Oak Cemetery in Pass Christian. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Trinity Episcopal Church in Honor of Thelma Pulkowski at 125 Church Ave., Pass Christian, MS, 39571.
