Thelma Heflin Phillips, known as """"Susie"""" to her family, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2008, in Gulfport.
She was born December 8, 1912 in Union, MS, and was a lifelong resident of Gulfport. Mrs. Phillips was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church in Gulfport and enjoyed crocheting for family and friends. Art was another interest, including painting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Phillips; parents, Lonnie and Lucy Heflin; brothers, Russell and W.L. Heflin; sisters, Berniece Sephton, Blanche Eshee, and Roberta Rogers.
She is survived by her sister, Opal Welch of Gulfport; brother, William E. Heflin of Jackson, MS; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. Friends may visit two hours prior. Burial will follow chapel services at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to especially thank the personnel of the Boyington Nursing Home and Odyssey Hospice for the care showed to Mrs. Phillips.
