Thelma Gertrude McCabe Bobko Hock, born July 31st, 1923, a native of Kansas City, Missouri and resident of St. Petersburg, Florida, died October 25th, 2023, in St Petersburg. She was 100 years old.
Mrs. Hock was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Hock; sister, Vera Fernauld; and stepdaughter, Nancy Shoemake.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo Bobko Daniels; son, Joe Bobko; stepson, Howard Hock; grandsons, David Daniels (Lisa), Jeffrey Daniels (Patty) and Chris Shoemake (Sarah); several great grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Braden and brother, Al Kellogg (JoAnn).
Thelma was a civilian servicewoman during WWII and drove in the transportation pool for military personnel. She delighted in telling everyone that she had driven several dignitaries including Bob Hope and General Eisenhower who would eventually become president. She was a wonderful woman who could light up any room she entered. She traveled extensively with her husband and lived an adventurous life. She rejoiced in her family and friends. She was loved and will be missed greatly.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 1st, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
