Thea G. Sumrall

   Thea G. Sumrall, born on April 9, 1941, in Bruhl, Germany, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 10, 2024, in Gulfport, Mississippi. She lived a life marked by resilience, dedication, and service to others.

   Thea's journey took her from Heidelberg, Germany, where she resided before moving to Gulfport, Mississippi, in 1974. Upon moving to the United States she worked diligently in various retail and management positions at K-Mart, Perfumania, and the Armed Forces Retirement Home, where her commitment to excellence and customer service was evident to all who knew her.

   She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 28 years, Henry A. Sumrall, who left this world in 1998, as well as her parents, Eduard and Ida Geschwill, and her brother, Edgar Geschwill. Their memories remained a guiding light in her life. Thea cherished her role as a mother, leaving behind her beloved son, Alfred Sumrall, and his wife, Adrianne, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Thea was also a devoted dog lover.

   Thea's legacy will be honored with services on Friday, November 15, 2024. The Funeral Procession will depart from Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport at 8:20 a.m., for the Graveside Service at 9:00 a.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. 

    As we remember Thea, we celebrate a life filled with love, commitment, and remarkable achievements that touched the hearts of many. She will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will forever remain a part of those she loved.
