Teresa Cruthirds

Teresa S. Walker Cruthirds, age 69, passed away on May 4, 2022 at her home in Gulfport, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sammy and Annie Mae Walker; brother, Dewey Lynn Walker; and her step-father, Lewis Edward Robinson.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Charles Robert Cruthirds, Jr. of Gulfport; two daughters, Lori Lynn Rodriguez (Dusty) of Woolmarket, Erin Renee Palmer (Micah) of El Paso, TX; grandchildren, Hunter Rodriguez, Annie Palmer, Colston Dearman, Tobias Palmer, Ellie Dearman;  brother, Steve Walker (Joanne); step-sister Carole Haines (Jerry); and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Teresa began her career as a registered nurse at Biloxi Regional for 10 years where she worked as med surge nurse, and co-head nurse. After leaving Biloxi Regional, she began employment with Harrison County School System, where she worked for 36 years. She retired in February of 2021. She touched the lives of not only her 7400 plus students, but also everyone there. She was named School Nurse of the Year by the Mississippi School Nurse Association in 2007.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m., at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Rd. Gulfport. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
