Ted Allen Molesworth died on Thursday, February 23 at the age of 68 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Long Beach, where he loved singing in the choir and helping teach the men’s special needs Sunday school class, Gentle Hearts. He also enjoyed fellowship with his weekly men’s Bible study. Volunteering brought Ted great joy. He was a Rotary Club member and former president of the Long Beach chapter. He loved his involvement as a board member of the Women’s Resource Center in Gulfport as well as helping with hurricane relief. For many years, Ted was involved in Republican politics, working with campaigns and elections. He was a former president of the Dallas, TX Young Republicans Club and member of the Harrison County Republican Club and Election Commission. Ted enjoyed taking pottery classes, working in the yard, reading, and, mostly, spending time with his grandchildren. Ted was born in Yale, Michigan on April 9, 1954 to Ted Allen and Lela Rae Molesworth. He was a graduate of Yale High School and Northwood Institute. For many years, Ted worked in the construction field, and he retired from the City of Gulfport in 2019.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, sister Terry Cox, and twin brothers Timmy and Tommy Molesworth. Survivors include his daughter Juliane (James) Cole of Tucson, AZ, son Charles (Taylor) Molesworth of Long Beach, MS, grandchildren Clara Cole, Anna Paige Cole, Wesley Cole, and Griffin Molesworth, former wife Susan Molesworth, sister Jane Kavanagh, and brother Tod Molesworth, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ted will be remembered as a kind and good man who always had a big smile and positive outlook.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation for the loving care Ted received from all the nurses and staff at Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Long Beach at 11:00 am. Visitation will be two hours prior. Burial will follow at Long Beach Cemetery.
