Susan Smith

Susan Smith, 62, of Long Beach passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022.

She was born on January 28, 1959 in Magee, MS to Harold Centerbar and Francis Williams Centerbar.  She was a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast.  She met the love of her life, Randall Gary Smith when they were attending Gulfport High School and have been married for 45 years.  They later moved to Long Beach, MS where they raised their family.

She is preceded in death by her father, Harold Centerbar; her mother, Francis Williams Centerbar; her brother, Vernon Centerbar; and her son, Randall Gary Smith II.

She will be greatly missed by her husband, Randall Gary Smith; her sisters, Nancy Centerbar and Donna Morgan; her daughter, Danica Saegert (Justin); her grandsons, Brandon Leger and Cameron Leger (Courtney); her granddaughters, Tayler Smith, Alivia Saegert and Adalyn Saegert; her great-grandson Kohen Grayson; and many nieces and nephews.

Susan loved her family and friends more than anything.  If you knew her, it was because she was so involved in her kids and grandkids lives and activities.  She retired from Garden Park Hospital after 25 years and went on to help with her grandkids.  If there is one thing about her that everyone knows, it’s the love she had for her grandbabies.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022, from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Crosspoint Church, 15046 North Swan Road, Gulfport, MS 39503.  The family request the graveside burial will be held with immediate family at an undisclosed date. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved son at the Evergreen Cemetery.
