Susan Hughes

Susan Hughes, age 70 of Pass Christian, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022.

Sue  was a native of Long Beach and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education and certification in Library Science.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Sherman “Buddy” Fulcher, Jr.; and her parents, Julie and Sherman “Red” Fulcher, Sr

Sue is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert G. Hughes, Sr.; her children, Robin Hughes Buch (Patrick), Robert G. Hughes, Jr. (Kelly), Chris Hughes (Callie), and Matt Hughes; her sisters, Dianne Fulcher Reed (Mike) and Judy Fulcher Sours (Tim); her grandchildren, Christopher Hughes, Hunter Hughes, Grayson Hughes, Alyssa Hughes, Ilee Hughes, and Jet Hughes; and 17 nieces and nephews on the Hughes and Fulcher families and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was a retired librarian from St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School and built the library from scratch after Hurricane Katrina.  Sue will be missed deeply by her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the library at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School, 4321 Espy Ave., Long Beach, MS 39560.

A Prayer Service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 12, 2022, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 E Beach Blvd, Long Beach, MS 39560.
