Susan Schrieber Anderson, age 53, of Long Beach, peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones after a difficult battle with Covid-19.
Susan was born on July 19, 1968 to Allen and Dorothy Schrieber in Gulfport, MS. Susan graduated with honors from Biloxi High School in 1986. She briefly attended the University of South Alabama, but work called her back to Biloxi, MS where she worked tirelessly in retail for many years. She briefly worked at Gulfport-Biloxi Regional Airport before realizing her passion and moving to her current position with Dr. Joey Kaletsch at Beatline Oaks Veterinary Hospital in Long Beach.
Susan was so passionate about her role at the hospital. She loved Doc and her co-workers as a family. She would come alive when talking about the fur babies she took care of and the many friends she made caring for them. He heart was always with the animals. Her home was filled with babies that had been injured, abandoned, or surrendered, and she often fostered fur babies until they found loving homes.
She was preceded in death by her father, Allen Schrieber, and a sister, Angela Leigh Schrieber.
She is survived by her three beautiful girls, Katie Palazzo, Savannah Anderson, and Lyndsey Anderson; one granddaughter, Anneliese Leia Martinez. They were her entire life and she loved them fiercely. She was so proud of each of them. Susan will be greatly missed by her mother, Dorothy Schrieber; her siblings, Allen J. Schrieber (Suzette), Diann S. Strange (Charles, Jr), Lisa S. Corley (Rusty), and Amy L. Schrieber; as well as her nieces, Ashlee Guinn, Stephanie Purvis (Steven), Brittany Strange, and nephews, Aidan Corley, Charles Strange, III (Hannah) – they loved their Aunt Tutu dearly. Her favorite aunts Mary Bailey and Doris Montimore are heartbroken as well.
One of Susan’s greatest joys in life was when she became a grandmother to Anneliese Leia Martinez on May 26, 2021. Susan had such a short time with her granddaughter and we all know Anna has gained a guardian angel to watch over her. Susan’s wishes were to be cremated with no memorial service.
The family would like to thank Riemann Family Funeral Home and Jason Green along with Memorial Hospital at Gulfport ICU staff who cared tirelessly for Susan. God Bless
