Susan Abernethy

Susan Story Abernethy, 77, of Diamondhead, MS, passed away on June 10, 2023, in Gulfport, MS.

She was born on December 12, 1945, in Atlanta GA, to Jack Philip Story Sr. and Martha Chapman Story. Susan graduated from Brown High School in Atlanta, GA, Class of 1963. She worked as a flight attendant for Delta Airlines for 32 years and worked her way up to management in her career. Susan was a loving wife and a great friend to many. She enjoyed quilting and sharing loving memories with her dogs.  

Susan was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Story and Jack Philip Story Jr., and her parents, Jack Philip Story Sr. and Martha Chapman Story.

She is survived by her spouse, Sam Abernethy, her sister, Martha F. Story, many aunts, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Riemann Family Funeral Home in Pass Christian, MS served the family.
